NEw Wynwood Documentary reflects on the life and death of artist TMNK

NOBODY WAS HERE
a film by director: Rico James

“Nobody” or “TMNK: The Me Nobody Knows” was a successful corporate executive who traded suits and the corporate hustle for the gritty world of street art in Wynwood Miami with hopes of becoming a global artist. Known for his charisma and cloaked in his signature black hoodie with his skateboard in hand, Nobody was a mainstay in Miami’s Wynwood Arts District. He used technology and social media to reach the world and display his art and message of love. Despite his rise to international artist status, Nobody battled personal demons accompanied by setbacks coupled with skeptical criticism of his artistic talent.

As Rico began peeling back the layers of Nobody’s life, many came forward to share their photos and stories of inspiration from the artist who sacrificed it all to live his dream. From New York, Texas, New Jersey and California to Norway, Germany and France, more stories remain to truly capture the breadth and depth of Nobody’s impact on the world.  The film has garnered several film festival selections. The festival selections include The Cannes World Festival, Los Angeles Film Awards, Lonely Wolf International Film Festival, The New Jersey Documentary Film Festival, New York Independent Cinema Awards, Art Film Awards and the Vancouver International Black Film Festival.

On February 18th 2023, Nobody will return to Wynwood with a special screening at Panther Coffee at 6:00pm
The screening will be in collaboration with Panther Coffee, FIU Wolfsonian Public Humanities Lab and Iris PhotoCollective.
